Parwan Rehabilitation Project
Parwan Irrigation Project is located in Parwan Province of Afghanistan. It was an irrigation project aided by the Chinese Government in the 1960s and 1970s, and water was diverted from the Pankihir River. The Project consists of water diversion structures on Pankihir River, main canal, east main canal, south main canal, lifting canal, Charlikar Hydropower Station, pumping station, etc. Total length of the main canal is 85.6km, and the designed irrigation area is about 24,800ha. The project was accepted by Afghanistan in August 2012.
